27 Oct drawing out in the landscape
Once a year the Holyoke Mountain Range turns ruby red for a mere three days. The shape of Mt. Norwottuck is very hard to draw for me, but I think I am getting better at it. Tomorrow the mountain range will be grey, since the heavy rain is pulling the leaves down fast. This year I caught the ruby red, but wanted more, as it daily dulled. Year after year I file this same protest. At 5:30 pm yesterday the crayons were dropping into the hay from my icy cold fingers. I spent more time looking for them than drawing and finally packed up. The sky still had a ways to go but my fingers got too cold, and anyhow, no drawing is ever finished.
